International rugby union player Ben Cohen was born in Northampton and started playing rugby at the age of 12, and made his name in the Northampton team that won the Heineken Cup in 2000, and led to his England debut in the Six Nations tournament that year. He was a prolific try scorer for England and was a member of the England squad that won the World Cup in 2003, starting in six games in the tournament. He announced his retirement from the game in 2011, after 57 caps for England and having scored 31 tries. Since retiring from the game, he has concentrated on working on the Ben Cohen StandUp Foundation that he set up to combat homophobia and bullying.

Ben will be taking part in the eleventh series of Strictly Come Dancing and will be dancing with Kristina Rihanoff.
