BRIAN FORTUNA

 

Biography: With both parents being national dancing champions, it was almost inevitable that Brian would become a dancer. Beginning at the age of four in his mother's dance studio, Brian studied both Latin and ballroom dancing, and is not only a dancer, but a highly rated dance teacher. He has twice won the Imperial Dancesport Championships, as well as winning multiple awards for his teaching. Brian appeared on the fourth series of the US version of Strictly, "Dancing With The Stars" where he was partnered with former Miss USA, Shandi Finnessey, but the pair were the second couple to be voted out of the competition. Brian took on the roles of producer and choreographer on the series Dancing On Wheels which introducing viewers to wheelchair dancing, and was broadcast on BBC Three.

Brian joined Strictly for the sixth series of the programme when he danced with singer and returned for the seventh series, but decided not to return for series eight, following the BBCs decision to offer him a place in the professional dance group but not the main competition.
