DIARMUID GAVIN
Garden designer
Diarmuid came to the public attention through his gardening work on lifestyle programmes such as "Home Front" and "Real Rakeovers", as well as "Diarmuid's Big Adventure" which followed his progress as he attempted to design and build his show garden in the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. In fact, Diarmuid has designed three show gardens for Chelsea, and has won a bronze medal and two silver-gilt medals for his designs.
Partnered with Nicole Cutler, Diarmuid competed in series two of Strictly Come Dancing. Public support kept them in the competition for four weeks, during which time they performed the Cha Cha Cha, Quickstep, Tango and Paso Doble dances. Diarmuid appeared to enjoy the entire experience despite being mauled by the judges, and his enthusiasm and persistence kept the public voting, but eventually finished 7th out of ten couples.
