Emma was a member of one of the most sucessful all-girl pop bands in the world, The Spice Girls. With each member earning their own "Spice" nickname, Emma is known to many as "Baby Spice". The group had nine number one records in the UK charts, and sold over 40 million records worldwide. Since the group split, Emma has had her own successful solo career, with a number one single and two hit albums.

Taking part in Strictly Come Dancing series four, Emma was partnered with professional dancer Darren Bennett. With the Quickstep as their first dance, they scored an impressive 33 points with the judges, putting them top of the leaderboard with the judges. Emma's lowest score came in week four with the foxtrot where she was criticised for the lack of heel leads, and from then onwards, Darren tried to ensure that Emma was always technically excellent. Towards the end of the competition, the couple had to tackle all the dramatic, passionate dances - Paso Doble, Tango, Argentine Tango - and Emma seemed to struggle to portray the drama necessary to the performance of these dances. The judges continued to rate her highly (particularly Bruno), and in week 9 she received two 10's for her Waltz and one 10 for her Paso Doble, but it was obvious from week 10 onwards, that she didn't have the public support, when she finished top with the judges but ended up in the bottom two. Emma was voted off the show in the semi-final, finishing 12th out of fourteen couples.
