Gillian danced in the sixth series of Strictly Come Dancing, where she was partnered with Anton Du Beke. During the week leading up to their first competitive dance, It Takes Two training footage looked unpromising and their training hours were much fewer that the couples who had trained the most, and this could have been Gillian & Anton's downfall. Dancing the notoriously difficult Foxtrot as her first dance, Gillian looked very nervous and struggled to really perform the dance on the night, and finished second from bottom on the leaderboard. The public vote couldn't save the couple, and they had to dance again. Up against Jodie & Ian in the dance off, they couldn't better their performance, and the judges voted them out of the competition. They finished joint fifteenth out of sixteen couples.
