NICKY BYRNE

Singer

Singer and songwriter Nicky was born in Dublin, Ireland, but music was not his first career. As a youngster, he was a football goalkeeper, representing his country upto Under 18 level and signed with Leeds Utd in the mid 1990s. Back in Ireland, he auditioned for a new boyband Louis Walsh was putting together. The band was called Westlife, and went on to become one of the best selling bands ever, selling over 45 million records worldwide. The band performed together for fourteen years, before announcing their farewell tour, which ended in Dublin in June this year, with the final show being shown in cinemas worldwide.

Nicky will be competing in the tenth series of Strictly Come Dancing and will be dancing with Karen Hauer.
