||It seemed that Paul was destined to dance - before he could walk, he could recognise music and move in time to it! He initially attended a stage and drama school, but when he was invited to join and study at the Royal Ballet School in London, he had to decide whether to follow the classical ballet route or specialise in the ballroom and latin american disciplines. Taught by the one of the best tutors in the world, Paul successfully represented Great Britain in the Juvenile, Junior, Youth and Amateur divisions. He turned professional in 1994 and after dancing with a few partners, he teamed up with Hanna Karttunen in 1999, and in the five years they danced together competitively, they were consistently ranked as one of the best couples in the world. Paul retired from competition in 2004 and opened his own dance school. He competed in the first two series of Strictly Come Dancing.
