Footballing legend Peter is probably best known as the goalkeeper for Manchester United throughout most of the 1990's with whom he won the Premier League title five times, in addition to three FA Cups, one League Cup and the UEFA Champions League. He holds the record for the most clean sheets to games ratio in the Premiership (42% of games ended without his team conceding a goal). Peter has also competed at international level, and is the most capped player for Denmark, with 129 appearances, and was a member of the team that won the 1992 European Championships.

Peter competed with professional dancer Erin Boag in the fourth series of Strictly Come Dancing. Surprisingly light on his feet in the ballroom discipline, Peter started with a good Waltz, followed in week three with a great Tango earning 31 points from the judges including a 9 from head judge Len. Latin was definitely not Peter's strong point, and for both the Paso Doble and the Samba he managed only 19 points. Dancing in week seven on his birthday, Peter's Foxtrot was criticised by Arlene for posture, while Len pointed out some mistakes in his footwork, however, their marks only totalled 26 points. It wasn't enough to save them, and Peter & Erin finished seventh out of fourteen couples.
