These rankings were calculated on the 29th September 2009, and include all results upto and including Week 2 of Strictly Come Dancing Series 7. Please note that as the number of professionals competing has increased by two (Natalie Lowe and Katya Virshilas) this week, then this will impact some of the other ratings for each individual category and other rankings for professionals who have not competed may have been affected.

Ranking basis:

Since the beginning of the Strictly Come Dancing, there have been 28 professional dancers who have competed in the competition. In order to generate a ranking for each professional, this is how the figures have been calculated:

Each professional has been rated from 1 to 28 for each of the following conditions:

  • Highest Ballroom score (28 points for top score down to 1 point for lowest score)
  • Lowest Ballroom score (28 points for top score down to 1 point for lowest score)
  • Average Ballroom score (28 points for top score down to 1 point for lowest score)
  • Highest Latin score (28 points for top score down to 1 point for lowest score)
  • Lowest Latin score (28 points for top score down to 1 point for lowest score)
  • Average Latin score (28 points for top score down to 1 point for lowest score)
  • Average Overall score (28 points for top score down to 1 point for lowest score)
  • Number of 10's awarded (28 points for highest number of 10's down to 1 point for lowest number of 10's)
  • A bonus point has been awarded for each perfect score of 40

For each series the three dancers to finish in the top three have received the following bonus points:

  • 1st place - 3 points
  • 2nd place - 2 points
  • 3rd place - 1 point

Notes:

The American Smooth, Argentine Tango and Salsa are not usually classified as part of either the Ballroom or Latin American disciplines, so for this rating system, I have chosen to include them in the following groups, as they seem to most closely match the discipline.

  • American Smooth classified as Ballroom
  • Argentine Tango classified as Latin
  • Salsa classified as Latin

Additionally, the Series 1 Show dance scores have been excluded

The results have been generated from dances performed in the main show only; all Christmas Specials and other related competitions (e.g. Sport Relief, Children In Need) have been excluded.
