We know also have it confirmed that the dance off will return this year, our judging line up will see the return of series perennials, Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood, plus the full time addition of Darcey Bussell. The main shows this year will be presented by Bruce Forsyth and Tess Daly, with Tess and Claudia Winkleman hosting the Sunday night Results Show. Sister programme, It Takes Two will return on weekday evenings fronted by Zoe Ball. We will also have a return to Wembley on Children In Need weekend, but there will be no visit to Blackpool.
With the exception of Katya Virshilas, all of last years professional dancers will return to the competition, with the addition of new girl, Karen Hauer. The launch show will be broadcast at 6:30pm on Saturday 15th September on BBC One, where we will find out which of the professional partners will be partnered with each of the celebrities, as well as seeing the potential (or lack of!) of each of the celebrities in their first group dance.
I have to say, from a personal point of view, this looks like a great group of celebs this year, and in the first year ever, I didn't have to look up anyone I didn't know! I make no apologies for having a soft spot for Johnny Ball, one of my childhood heroes, even though I suspect he won't make it to the final, I'm so pleased to see him in the show. Other than that, there looks to be some real potential here, so I can't wait for the series to start - roll on Saturday!
