The Perfect Score

Just how many 10's have been given out in Strictly Come Dancing so far? 

(upto and including Series 7, Week 11)

In normal competition:

*A competitive group Viennese Waltz was introduced in series seven, for which the judges gave a single combined score for each couple, so while this is not credited to any individual judge, it is included in the series total.

 

And from that total of 143 perfect 10's given in the seven series of Strictly so far, 89 have been awarded to ballroom dances, 53 given for latin routines, and 1 for the Charleston.

Judges tend to be a bit more generous at Christmas, and we've seen a few more 10's given out in the four Christmas specials so far:

  • 14 from Bruno - nine for ballroom dances, five for latin dances
  • 13 from Len - nine for ballroom dances, four for latin dances
  • 11 from Arlene - eight for ballroom dances, three for latin dances
  • 5 from Craig - four for ballroom dances, one for a latin dance

    But what about those routines that have scored the ultimate four 10's? To date, in normal competition, nine dances have scored the perfect 40:

  • Jill & Darren in the final of series two, with their Jive routine
  • Mark & Karen in the final of series four, with their Salsa routine
  • Matt & Flavia in the semi-final of series five, with their Waltz routine
  • Rachel & Vincent in week ten of series six, with their Foxtrot routine
  • Lisa & Brendan in the semi-final of series six, with their Quickstep routine
  • Rachel & Vincent again in the final of series six, with their Foxtrot routine
  • Lisa & Brendan again in the final of series six, both with their Foxtrot and their Cha Cha Cha routines
  • Ali & Brian in week eight of series seven, with their Viennese Waltz routines

    Again, a bit more generosity flowing in the Christmas specials, with four more dances awarded that perfect mark:

  • Darren & Lilia in the 2005 special, with their Quickstep routine
  • Colin & Erin in the 2006 special, with their Quickstep routine
  • Darren & Lilia again in the 2007 special, with their American Smooth routine
  • Gethin & Camilla in the 2007 special, with their Waltz routine
