Dominic made his first television appearance on the Channel 4 programmme "Faking It", and his cheeky personality got him spotted, and he became the co-presenter of the BBC Two programme "Wrong Car, Right Car". He has gone on to many other projects for the BBC, and is now a regular contributor to the weekday magazine programme "The One Show".

Partnered with Lilia Kopylova, Dominic competed in series five of Strictly Come Dancing. Dominic started the competition quite positively, with Lilia's cheeky choreography for their opening dance, the Cha Cha Cha, earning them 25 points and second place with the judges. However, even with Lilia's clever choreography, Dominic didn't seem to improve week on week, and maintained the same level of performance each week, scoring either 25 or 26 points for all his dances, which allowed the other celebrities to overtake him on the leaderboard. Dominic admitted that he was extremely competitive, and by week five, his frustration with the judges scores came out as a petulant rant while talking to Tess after the dance, and the couple found themselves in the bottom two. His criticism of the judges may have gone against him, as after the dance-off in the Sunday night results show, the judges voted to keep John & Nicole ahead of Dominic & Lilia.
