Fashion Designer

Welsh fashion designer, Julien Macdonald, studied Fashion Knitwear at Brighton before going on to receive an MA at the Royal College of Art in London. After graduating, he was soon talent spotted by Karl Lagerfeld and was made the Head Designer of Knitwear for both the Chanel and Lagerfeld labels. He later started his own label, and was named British Fashion Designer of the Year in 2001, and went on to become Creative Director at Givenchy. He was award the OBE in 2006 for services to the fashion industry. No stranger to Strictly, Julien has been a regular contributor on It Takes Two, giving his opinions on the dresses and costumes from each weeks dances.

Julien will be taking part in the eleventh series of Strictly Come Dancing and will be dancing with Strictly newcomer, Janette Manrara.
